Contemplative Turtle
January 5th, 2022 A turtle my 27-year-old son brought home is a mystery to me. It helps me contemplate. We are entangled in a culture where productivity, efficiency and affluence matter. The truth of the matter at least for me is that we are so far away from each other. "Good morning... " "See you!" When I greet someone, it's not because it's a habit of a society. The moment being with someone and experiencing joy, pain, anger or consolation from that encounter is a way of communicating with God. It sometimes takes time to process feelings and thoughts, but those prayerful moments will certainly help to clear our mind. We are in a way captives of our own. We can only see things partially like our turtle named Chao. We make decisions within a limited framework influenced by those in a seemingly better position to gather information and have time and wealth to be equipped with expertise....
